Chimpanzee Discovery Day

As a sanctuary, Chimp Haven is not regularly open for visitors.  However, you may come and visit us during limited hours on particular days of the year during our Chimpanzee Discovery Days.  We look forward to meeting you!

Free and open to the public, Chimpanzee Discovery Days is an entertaining and educational event for the entire family!  Visitors to Chimp Haven will have the chance to observe the chimpanzees in their natural, forested habitats; talk to staff about their personalities and natural behavior; and discover the wonders hidden on the nature trail.  Chimpanzee Discovery Days are normally from 9 a.m. until noon.  Earth Day in April and Fall Festival in October we will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Chimp Chat & Chew – The Morning Edition

A new addition to the opportunities offered to the general public, Chimp Chat & Chew – The Morning Edition enables preregistered guests to get a more intimate look at the chimpanzees and personal access to Chimp Haven staff in the morning. From 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. guests receive a behind-the-scenes tour, breakfast, a presentation by a staff member, and an up-close-and-personal look at our residents. Fees are $40 for adults; $20 for children (12 years of age and younger).   Reservations are required for this event as we have limited space available. This event often fills up early, even months in advance, so please call early to reserve a spot for you, your family & friends!

Chimp Chat & Chew

Chow Down for Chimp Haven

On May 1, 2013, restaurants around the country are coming together to support Chimp Haven. On this day, participating restaurants will donate 10-20 percent of their proceeds to Chimp Haven. Please show your support for Chimp Haven by eating at one of the participating restaurants.

Raising Cane’s on Mansfield Road is the first restaurant to join Chow Down for Chimp Haven. They will donate 15 percent back to Chimp Haven. Before placing your order, please tell the cashier that you are there to support Chimp Haven.

Ruby Tuesday, Texarkana, TX will be donating 10 percent.

MonsterPBJ Food Truck, Houston, TX  will be donating 20 percent.

Surly Girl Saloon, Columbus, OH will be donating 10 percent.

Zocolo Neighborhood Eatery and Drinkery, Shreveport, LA will be donating 10 percent.

Bistro Byronz, Shreveport, LA will be donating 10 percent.

Firkin & Phoenix Pub, Houston, TX will be donating 10 percent.
