Art Exhibit

Now through Friday, December 30th,  Sci-port: Louisiana’s Science Center, is hosting a mini-exhibition of artwork created by the Chimp Haven chimpanzees as a complement to their latest IMAX film, Born to be Wild! There are approximately twelve pieces of art from five different chimps, along with their biographies, on display in Sci-Port’s  JPMorgan Chase Grand Lobby.

Born to be Wild is an inspired story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals. The film documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who rescue and raise them—saving endangered species one life at a time.  Check out Sci-port’s website to learn more! Chimpanzee Treats

Sci-Port is also sponsoring “Chimpanzee Treats,” an enrichment activity for adults and children of all ages on the Saturday and Sunday prior to each of the Chimp Haven’s Discovery Days. Chimpanzee Treats will be made on site and taken to Chimp Haven the following Saturday from 9 a.m. – Noon.
