Volunteers Volunteers offer invaluable support to Chimp Haven and are important to the future of the sanctuary. They work with visitors and staff, independently and in groups, on weekdays and weekends. Our volunteers help us with events, in schools, at the sanctuary, in the community and by planning ways to increase public awareness of Chimp Haven locally and nationally. They learn, they work hard, and they have fun! The Volunteer Program also offers groups of corporate and community volunteers the opportunity to participate in the hands-on work of keeping our sanctuary in top form. We also need groups of corporate volunteers to help staff our popular events throughout the year.
Our volunteers are not only helping Chimp Haven present well-known speakers to the community, but they themselves are trained to speak to civic groups, schools, and other organizations. Through these efforts, we will be able to share Chimp Haven's mission with so many more people. If you are interested in joining a training program for volunteer speakers, please contact us. Volunteers also play a crucial role in the success of our Chimpanzee Discovery Days. This once a month event that is open to the public gives opportunities for our volunteers to lead educational activities and booths, greet visitors, and assist staff members in making each Chimpanzee Discovery Day a truly exciting event. We are proud of all our volunteers and all they contribute to the success of Chimp Haven. Click here for more details.
