Harper is one of the most playful chimpanzees at Chimp Haven. He spends a good deal of time with the older males in his group to learn the finer points of becoming a mature chimpanzee. He is learning to be a dominant chimpanzee by resolving fights between the female chimpanzees and calming the macho behaviors of the other males.
When he was younger, Harper liked to hang sheets from the skylights in his group’s bedroom. He would then wind the sheets tightly, hold on, and spin in circles until the sheet was completely unwound. Harper likes to run off with the brushes when the other chimpanzees are engaged in painting, thereby leading them into a game of chase!
