C.A.R.E. - The Chimpanzee Sponsorship Program

Enter the World of the chimpanzees through the Chimp Haven C.A.R.E. program. Because of the generosity of many people and organizations like you, Chimp Haven can provide a permanent home to hundreds of chimpanzees no longer needed in medical research, the entertainment industry or wanted as pets.

We need your support for the Chimpanzee Annual Resource Enhancement (C.A.R.E.) Fund in order to provide the finest care, housing and enrichment for our residents. Experience the joy of sponsoring one of Chimp Haven's special residents with a contribution at the level of your choosing. As a youngster, growing up in Africa, Rita played in the trees and was cared for by her mother as part of a larger community. But for the last 40 years, Rita lived in a facility where she served in medical research to improve human health.  Rita has finally come home to Chimp Haven. She is still with her life-long friend Teresa, but she is also getting to know other chimps. She can make a nest, climb up into a hammock, and groom a friend.  Rita is an important part of a large social group living in a forest habitat much like her native African home. 

There are many others like Rita who can now retire to the open space and social groups at Chimp Haven. After more than 10 years of planning, the sanctuary has welcomed 115 chimpanzees. They have left the research facilities and are home in their new residence. Through the generosity of many caring people and organizations, Chimp Haven has made great strides, and with your support, will be able to provide the finest care and housing to more than 200 chimpanzees.

Through the C.A.R.E. program you will get to know the individual chimpanzee of your choice and learn about their progress. We will be happy to share the excitement of knowing them and you will become an important part of a very special project.
